The Eighth Dimension

The Eighth Dimension

My name is Gabriel. I am neither from here nor from this time. Moreover, I am not announcing good news; I am not a messenger. In fact, I received the message. In a way, I am the message itself.

In the year 2176, Science and Technology reached a point when, apparently, there would be no further progress. All the great questions of Science, such as black holes, gravity, dark matter, had been fully clarified and understood. And we had gone much further. At that specific point in time, January 14, 2176, something surprising happened.

However, before continuing, I want you to know that my real name is not Gabriel, but Alan Shepard, in honor of the great astronaut of the 20th century. I am the director of the “Great Dimensional Machine” project. It can also be considered a time machine, but that, I apologize for saying in advance, is impossible. But do not be disappointed. The Dimensional Travel is much more advanced. Besides, you will discover in a few decades, from your time, that time travel is irrelevant. But let us not skip stages.

I was talking about that special day in January. Well, after several trials, finally, at 1:47 PM, we activated the giant mechanism. The goal was for our group of scientists — we were eleven — to enter another dimension.

Something surprising, really surprising, happened. Five of us disappeared. The others, including me, returned. However, they were inside us, in our thoughts. Moreover, they were inside our molecules, our atoms. We were one. Our group was one. Then, we had more surprises. Along with our disappeared colleagues, beings from the eighth dimension, which we had just reached, came to participate. Our constitution became the same. We started to see everything they saw, felt, lived, and they also, in reference to us. They were there and here, all within me. I was all of them at the same time, we were no longer six or eleven.

It was then that we realized that we had become part of a kind of cosmic club, which practically knew everything. Or at least everything in these two dimensions: ours and the eighth. And this knowledge was enough for us to do whatever we wanted. There were no limits to our knowledge, to our capacity. Along with this wisdom came also the certainty that most of the struggles we had always fought for were unnecessary. The only task still impossible was to create from nothing. As for the rest, everything was possible. Possible, but not necessary.

We knew that we were now close to God. We were almost God. We would have to move to another dimension: the eleventh. The other dimensions, the ones we would skip, do not matter. There was, however, a long path to be pursued and we were the chosen ones. We were the receivers of the message. We were the message, now I am the message. Now, for me, there is no time, no era, no limits. Perhaps that is why I have another name now. As I said, I am Gabriel. More than an archangel. I am heading to the eleventh dimension.

I am now in Singularity.
